The purpose of Hope’s Door is to Educate, Counsel, and Empower women, especially those who have found themselves victims of homelessness or domestic violence and abuse. With over twenty-five years of experience resourcing women and their children by helping them find safe shelter, the founder of Hope’s Door, Elizabeth Sherrell, holds a Master’s and Specialist in Christian Counseling. As an advocate for women and children, she authored the book, “Do You See This Woman,” and developed the SAVE (serving abuse victims effectively) program designed to train pastors and their leadership in the area of domestic violence. Isaiah 61:1 says, “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”

Vision

Hope’s Door has three main areas of vision: Outreach, SAVE, and Counsel.

Outreach

Our Outreach Program is a tool to instill value, worth, and hope into the lives of women by raising them into a place of independence and strength through knowing who they are in Christ. On outreach days we feed their spirit through praise and worship, their soul through biblical teaching and prayer, and their body through food and blessing bags.

SAVE

Hope’s Door also has a vision for educating pastoral staff and lay leadership in the “SAVE” program. This program trains leaders to respond with mercy, compassions, and confidentiality to victims of Domestic Violence, bullying, and abuse.

Counsel

Hope’s Door has the heart to see the concerns of women met through biblically based individualized counsel and offers sessions by appointment.
